HELLO3D 3D Printer Filament – ABS – 1.75mm – Grey – 1Kg
The HELLO3D ABS filaments are universally designed and compatible with 3D Printers using 1.75mm diameter filament.
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a common thermoplastic polymer and is derived from acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene.
Acrylonitrile is a synthetic monomer produced from propylene and ammonia, butadiene is a petroleum hydrocarbon obtained from the C4 fraction of steam cracking and styrene monomer is made by dehydrogenation of ethyl benzene — a hydrocarbon obtained in the reaction of ethylene and benzene.
ABS combines the strength and rigidity of acrylonitrile and styrene polymers with the toughness of polybutadiene rubber. It has better mechanical properties than HDPE and less brittle than PLA but handles higher temperatures, better for applications such as extruder’s.
ABS is difficult because it tends to warp catastrophically off the build platform when printing large parts. This can be remedied by using a heated build platform.
ABS creates mild, tolerable fumes while being extruded. These fumes, while usually tolerable, may be dangerous for people (or pet birds) with chemical sensitivities or breathing difficulties. Make sure that your printer is in a well-ventilated area and make sure to avoid breathing the fumes.
The HELLO3D 3D printer ABS filament has the following characteristics:
- 100% virgin material without cheap plastic fillers
