Description
eSUN ABS+ Red 1kg filament: reliable colour and consistent printing
eSUN ABS+ Red 1kg filament is an improved ABS formulation designed to reduce odour and shrinkage while delivering tough, heat-resistant parts. This red 1kg spool gives makers a practical combination of predictable feeding, useful material performance and a colour selected for repeatable project work. The 1.75mm diameter is compatible with most open-material FDM and FFF printers, including many Creality, Bambu Lab, Prusa, Voron and similar machines when the correct material profile is used.
At DC3D Makers Hub, filament is chosen for real workshop use rather than shelf appeal alone. eSUN ABS+ Red 1kg filament is suitable for makers who need high impact resistance, better dimensional stability, reduced warping and good post-processing. A properly tuned first layer, clean build surface and sensible temperature test are still important, because printer hardware, nozzle type, enclosure temperature and print speed can change the ideal setup.
Why choose eSUN ABS+ Red 1kg filament?
- Full 1kg net filament weight on a practical spool.
- Consistent 1.75mm feed for compatible FDM 3D printers.
- High impact resistance, better dimensional stability, reduced warping and good post-processing.
- Red colour for clear, repeatable project planning.
- Suitable for mechanical parts, housings, automotive prototypes, fixtures, tools and heat-exposed components.
- Vacuum-packed for cleaner storage before opening.
- Supported by the DC3D team when you need practical print advice.
Recommended starting settings
Start near 230-270°C at the nozzle and 95-110°C on the bed. Use an enclosure and suitable ventilation. These values are starting points, not rigid rules. Run a temperature tower when using a new printer profile, confirm flow and pressure advance, and check that the first layer is neither over-squashed nor too high. Faster machines may need additional nozzle temperature to maintain flow, while small detailed parts may benefit from more cooling and a slower outer-wall speed.
Keep the filament path clean and free of sharp bends. Store the spool in a sealed bag or dry box with desiccant after use. If the surface becomes rough, stringing increases or extrusion starts to sound uneven, dry the filament according to the material manufacturer’s guidance before changing slicer settings. Moisture can make a good profile appear faulty and may reduce surface quality or layer strength.
Colour and finish
The Red colour works well for mechanical parts, housings, automotive prototypes, fixtures, tools and heat-exposed components. Screen settings, photography and production batches can cause small colour differences, so order enough filament for large colour-critical projects at the same time. Matte materials soften reflections and help disguise layer lines, while standard and engineering materials may show a cleaner satin or gloss response depending on temperature and wall speed.
Using this filament successfully
Begin with a clean, level build plate and the correct nozzle-to-bed distance. Confirm the spool can rotate freely and that the extruder tension is appropriate. For long jobs, inspect the first layers before leaving the machine unattended. Use a brim, enclosure or adhesive only where the material and model geometry require it. Good mechanical parts also depend on sensible wall count, layer direction and infill selection rather than filament strength alone.

eSUN ABS+ Red 1kg filament frequently asked questions
Is this a full-size spool?
Yes. This listing is for one 1kg spool of 1.75mm filament.
Will it work in my printer?
It suits most open-material FDM printers that accept 1.75mm filament and can reach the recommended temperatures. Check your printer and build-surface limits before printing engineering materials.
Do I need to dry it?
Fresh filament is vacuum-packed, but all filament can absorb moisture after opening. Dry it when storage conditions, printing symptoms or the material type indicate that moisture is affecting quality.
Can DC3D help with settings?
Yes. Bring your printer model, nozzle size, slicer and a clear photo of the print issue so the team can help you identify the most useful adjustment.
